Bovis Lend Lease is one of the UK's leading construction and project management providers across all major sectors. At the core of Bovis Lend Lease's sustainability plan are the following five specific areas.

Waste management
A 3-year programme aims to reduce the amount of construction waste that is disposed of to landfill by 70%
(2007 levels used as baseline).
Carbon management
Using 2008 figures as a baseline, the company intends to reduce its direct carbon emissions by 20% by the end of 2010. This will be achieved through reducing electricity consumption, improving energy efficiency and
switching to low carbon forms of energy or renewables.
Sustainable design
The company's overarching target is to 'Deliver BREEAM Excellent or equivalent where our client's aspiration meets our own, and as a minimum for all new-build projects and major refurbishments of £5 million or more in contract value will achieve a minimum BREEAM Very Good rating or equivalent'.
Responsible sourcing of sustainable materials
The company aims to be market leader in the design and construction of sustainable buildings, and to procure KEY materials used in its construction projects and offices from suppliers who can demonstrate, through credible certification schemes, that the materials have been responsibly sourced and have positive environmental, social and economic impacts throughout their lifecycle.
Social benefit
BeOnsite is a not-for-profit company set up to employ, train and re-skill local people into sustainable jobs. The company aims to support 3,000 people with skills training and employment opportunities by the end of 2010.
